Ossi Grace Finds Hope Through Love in Her Debut EP In A Hopeless Place
Rising Afro-soul talent Ossi Grace continues to prove why she’s one of the genre’s most captivating new voices with the release of her debut EP, In A Hopeless Place, which officially dropped on October 31st. The 11-track body of work is a heartfelt journey through love, resilience, and finding beauty in the midst of struggle.
Leading the project is her latest single, “Where You Belong,” a soulful, vulnerable record that perfectly captures the EP’s tone. The project also includes fan favorites like “Only You,” “FA,” “Ocean,” and her standout debut “Reason.” Each track highlights Ossi’s signature blend of introspective songwriting and rich, emotive vocals that have drawn comparisons to the legendary Tracy Chapman.
Speaking about the inspiration behind the project, Ossi shared:
“Nigeria, to many of us, often feels like a hopeless place the struggle to access even the simplest of things, from electricity to a job that can at least put food on the table. We spend most of our time hoping things will improve so when we finally find something good, we hold on to it as tightly as we can.
For me, that ‘good something’ is love. I sing about it in the opening track of the EP ‘You (Intro)’ it was like finding a rose sprouting out of a pile of concrete rubble. The resilience born from struggle gave me the strength to fight for the love I had discovered. Through this project, I express how I learned to choose love and let love choose me.”
